Photo Blog Tour: Wing Jones by Katherine Webber #WJPhotoTour

wingjones

Happy Wednesday everyone! I am so excited today to be on the blog tour for the fabulous WING JONES by Katherine Webber!

Wing Jones is the highly anticipated debut from Katherine Webber that was published in the UK on January 5th. I’ve had the pleasure of already reading this book and have a review on my youtube channel if you want to know more of my in depth thoughts (hint: I loved it!).

With a grandmother from China and another from Ghana, fifteen-year-old Wing is often caught between worlds. But when tragedy strikes, Wing discovers a talent for running she never knew she had. Wing’s speed could bring her family everything it needs. It could also stop Wing getting the one thing she wants…

Katherine Webber was born in Southern California but has lived in Atlanta, Hawaii, Hong Kong and now in London. For several years she worked at the reading charity BookTrust, where she worked on projects such as The Letterbox Club which delivers parcels of books to children in care, and YALC, the Young Adult Literature Convention. You can find her on Twitter@kwebberwrites.

Throughout January, over 40 bloggers will be participating in the #WJphototour – a photo blog tour documenting Katherine’s path to publishing her debut novel. From childhood memories that inspired her writing to her time living in Atlanta and Asia that influenced the book to authors she’s met over the years right up to receiving her first finished copy of the book, follow along to see Katherine’s author life unfold! Keep an eye on the hashtag to see the latest photos!

So without further ado, here is my installment in the tour!

One of the best things about moving to London was that so many of my Twitter friends that I had made in Hong Kong were either based in London or came to visit it! Samantha Shannon, Krystal Sutherland, Lisa Lueddecke, and I had all started chatting while living on 4 different continents (Europe, Australia, North America, and Asia) and then, somehow we all ended up in London on the same weekend and got to hang out!

At this time, early 2015, Samantha was the only one who was a published author. Now, two years later, all four of us have books published or coming out this year! We’ve been able to support each other and cheer each other on — I still can’t quite believe that we all made our author dreams come true.
